Cosmo Girls (Lauren): J’ai eu l’opportunité d’être derrière les scènes lors du Fashion Week! Je l’ais aussi été au M.A.C. pour interviewer la chanteuse et compositrice R&B Keri Hilson. Elle a écrite pour des artistes incroyables tels que Britney Speas, les Pussycat Dolls et Chris Brown. Aujourd’hui, elle sort son propre album ‘In a Perfect World’ et elle se trouve au Fashio Weeks pour découvrir nos designers pour sa prochaine tournée avec Timbaland. Keri m’a parlé au sujet de son nouvel album et de son apparition au fashion!

Tu as écrite des chansons pour plein d’artistes géniaux. Comment ça a été d’écrire pour ton propre album?
Keri: J’apprécie vraiment beaucoup quand quelqu’un vient me voir et me dit qu’ils apprécient la chanson que j’ai écrite pour eux. Le fait que je sois la source de ces chansons me rend les émotions encore plus fortes.

Que peut-on attendre de ton nouvel album?
Keri: C’est une coopération avec Timbaland et Polow da Don. Vous allez voir de quoi on a été capable. J’ai écrite pour d’autres artistes, et maintenant vous pouvez voir ce que j’ai faite pour moi même.

Comment pensez-tu que le net a aidé et malmené l’industrie de musique? Et pense-tu qu’on pourra un jour arrêter les téléchargements illégaux?
Keri: C’est carrément avantageux que les fans soient à un click de leurs chansons préférées. Mais j’ai déjà découverte des chansons de moi qui ont été filtré. Ça a un double sens. Les labels et l’industrie de la musique commencent les restructurations.

Comment décrirais-tu ton propre style fashion?
Keri: Un mélange de masculin, en même temps linéaire au féminin. J’aime bien quand les femmes ont un look sans mesures. J’aime ben mélanger les deux extrêmes.

Quel est ton produit make-up le plus essentiel?
Keri: M.A.C. Foundation. J’adore aussi le fond de tain M.A.C. Je l’utilise entant que blush.

Quels sont tes designers préférés?
Keri: Zac Posen, j’aime aussi YSL.

Keri a été obligé de se préparer pour le Zac Posen fashion show (sa première expérience au Fashion Weeks!) mais j’étais contente, on a pu parler pendant quelque minutes. Ne manquez pas l’album de Keri qui sortira prochainement!.

Cosmo Girls (Lauren): I had the amazing opportunity to go behind the scenes at Fashion Week! I went backstage to the M.A.C. lounge to interview R&B singer and songwriter Keri Hilson. She’s written for some incredible artists including Britney Spears, the Pussycat Dolls, and Chris Brown. This fall she’s releasing her debut solo album, In a Perfect World…, and she’s at Fashion Week to check out designers for her upcoming tour with Timbaland. Keri talked to me about her new album and her take on fashion!

You’ve written music for a lot of great artists. How has it been different to write music for your own album?
Keri: I really appreciate when someone comes up to me and tells me that they appreciate what a song I’ve written means to them. Now that I’m the vessel for the song, the emotion for me is even greater.

What can we expect from your new album?
Keri: It’s a joint venture with Timbaland and Polow da Don. You’ll get to see what we’ve been up to. I’ve written for other artists, but now you can see what I’ve done for myself.

How do you think that the web has helped and hurt the music industry? And do you think we’ll ever get past illegal music downloading?
Keri: It definitely helps that fans are one click away from their favorite music. But I’ve already experienced songs of mine leaking. It’s a double-edged sword. Labels and the multi-media industry are starting to have to restructure.

How would you describe your own fashion style?
Keri: A mixture of masculine, straight-line with feminine. I enjoy when the woman has a tailored look. I like to mix both extremes.

What is your most essential make-up product?
Keri: M.A.C. Foundation. I also love the M.A.C. Mineralize Skinfinish. I use it as a blush.

Who are some of your favorite designers?
Keri: Zac Posen. I also enjoy YSL.
